When a bright yellow school bus screeches into the zoo, it unleashes a wildly energetic parade of “animals”—but something isn’t quite as it seems. Beneath the roaring lions, stomping elephants, and growling bears are children in costumes. When a real monkey spots the commotion, she leaps in to join the fun. Without a costume, she is determined to be nothing but her true self.
The field trip is full of adventure as the zookeeper tries to return the monkey to her zoo-habitat. “The Monkey I Am” is about unexpected friendship and accepting new people into our lives despite their differences. Along the way, the characters also inspire us to be confident with who we are and express ourselves everywhere we go.
